CHULO Bar De Tapas – 154 Acland Street
Lets start with the newest edition to Acland Street, serving authentic and appealing Spanish tapas, coupled with a great wine list. I look for a place that I can go, where I can sit back, relax and enjoy some real, authentic food. Chulo has a set of fresh dishes delicious and full of flavour.
Chef Pablo Diaz has created a menu that is exciting and true to Spanish tapas. Diaz has spent years training abroad, now he brings his knowledge and expertise all the way from his hometown in Madrid right here to the heart of St Kilda.
The team here have noticed a huge amount of interest in Chulo before the doors even opened. Despite opening right at the beginning of the upgrade they say they couldn’t be happier with the reception.
“The locals are excited to have somewhere new to drink and dine, and nearby traders have been very positive with their feedback too.”

Now these guys will catch your attention. This little cartel only recently pulled open their doors, but they are quickly making a name for themselves.
Pablo is the long awaited product of 4 long time friends, who using their hospitality ‘know how’ and quite a few bottles of tequila have created the ‘Pablo Honey’ that we see here today.The vibe is funky, whilst sophisticated, with modern art and mood lighting. These comrades have officially made their restaurant the new, modern, artsy and vibrant place to hang out.
The menu is designed to allow you to explore many flavors, small plates so you don’t have to stop at just one, as well as larger plates for those who want to fill up.They have an extensive cocktail list and their specialty is tequila, top of the range is the Chase Azul Anejo Ultra Tequila ($200/shot).
Pablo’s signature dessert will take you to another world, the Dulce de Leche Mousse with berry’s and bitter chocolate popping candy. Its been deemed the most photographed dessert of 2016 by several major Instagram users and its not hard to see why…
